More about me:

I am a 50-year-old mother of two and a family of four children. I live with my husband and children in Myyrmäki, Vantaa. We also have two cats. I was born and raised here and that’s why the city is especially dear to me. A smooth everyday life, including work, school and studies, is important to me. Good opportunities for exercise and sports close to home are absolutely essential for my family, as is access to nature. I’m an avid hiker myself, and outdoor life has become a way of life for me. My hobbies include cycling, swimming in natural waters (also in winter), skiing and canoeing. I love cooking and I get to cook a lot for an athletic family of mine.

I have a Master’s degree in Education. I have worked for more than twenty years as a Primary and Physical Education teacher in a primary school in Helsinki. I have specialised in P.E and the teaching of Finnish language and literature. I am also an early childhood education teacher. I have expertise especially in pre-primary and primary education (grades 1-2) and its pedagogy. At the moment, I work as an outdoor teacher. All my lessons are held in the forest or in the vicinity of the school. I have developed functional, wide-ranging and cross-curricular teaching. My work is based on Sustainable Development in all its forms. I graduated in April -21 as an environmental educator with an emphasis on outdoor education. This school year, I teach environmental studies and physical education in all grades of primary school.

I am a member of the Vantaa City Council and am now running for a third term. I have also had the honour of receiving other positions of trust during the term. During the current term, I am a member of the Board of Urban Environment and the Board of Audit. I also serve as the Chairman of the Board of the Uusimaa Recreation Area Association UUVI. I have had the opportunity to be part of the coordination group of the Vantaa Child-Friendly Municipality (LYK) project from the very beginning. In addition, I am a member of the board of our local Coalition Party association.

For the first time, I also ran as a candidate in the County Elections for the wellbeing services county of Vantaa-Kerava. The well-being of residents is a joint task of the city and the region. It is good to be able to work on both fields and promote the good everyday life and health of the residents of Vantaa and Kerava. Let’s implement them smoothly and with clear steps for the benefit of the person in need of advice and care.
